FAILPROOF FREEDOM

This modern world, crippled by fear, wants a failure-proof freedom.

Herbert Hoover died on the 20th October, 1964.

In 1936 he said, “There are some principles that cannot be compromised.  Either we shall have a society based upon ordered liberty and the initiative of the individual, or we shall have a planned society that means dictation, no matter what you call it or who does it.  There is no half-way ground.  They cannot be mixed.”

Nowadays we want freedom that never lets us down.

But there is no such thing.

Freedom by its very nature offers up the possibility of failure.

That is how we learn to do better.

Listening to our world, we learn to live.

Lest We Forget what we are.
