Huck Finn Week – Day 4 – Dusty’s “Coming Down” And Beautiful White Angel Thalia With Her Dad

In the following instrumental, “Coming Down”, Australian Country Music singer-songwriter Dusty Starr plays guitar in a way that reminds me a little or a lot of Elmore James and Willie Nelson and Robbie Robertson rolled into one.

A laidback, easy going auditory heaven.

To try to capture the feel of this music in words, I have transcreated into objectified, slightly more modern English parts of runaway slave Jim’s hair-ball fortune-telling speech to Huck at the end of the fourth chapter in The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn.

Huck was scared but Jim said,

Your dad dont know what he will do, so rest easy in letting him go his own way.

He’s got two angels ….. one white ….. one black.

The white one’s the right one, but the black one can sail in and bust it all up.”

That story was set in antebellum America of the 1840’s. Huck had a very troubled relationship with his drunk, violent father.

In the current year of the 2020’s, a beautiful white angel who has appeared in Melbourne, is Thalia looking safe and secure standing up for freedom with her dad on the recent Mission To Melbourne, when decent country people like Thalia and Dan brought new life and hope to Melbourne’s freedom movement.

Thalia and Dan.

You can’t stop human progress when traditions like honesty, good will, family and friendship remain solid and sound: this was as true in Mark Twain’s classic, as it is in Melbourne now.

Praise The Lord.

Huck Finn Week Day 3 – Jim Cousens Invokes The Anzus Treaty Against Daniel Andrews And Anthony Albanese

I am Jim Cousens. I don’t want to boast but, just so there wont be any confusion about how important my dockamentry films are to the future of mankind: “I am I am”.

In seeking a “show (chance) for freedom” with his friend, the runaway slave Jim, Huck Finn fled the constraints of houses and schools on land where he was “so cramped up and sivilized” and discovered on the mighty Mississippi River that, “You feel mighty free and easy and comfortable on a raft.”

Huck’s creator, Mark Twain, learnt on travels abroad that “when you get used to terror your emotions get dulled.”

This describes the nation of sheep which is Australia: too many idiots following bigger idiots to their freedom’s doom. Increasingly a nation of slaves.

Now I am not a shrinking violet when it comes to pointing out what is wrong with Australia. As Mark Twain wrote: “To be a patriot, one had to say, and keep on saying, ” Our country, right or wrong,” and urge on the little war. Have you not perceived that that phrase is an insult to the nation?” A true patriot will try to fix what’s wrong with his country, not pretend that everything’s allright.

So today, Pear Harbour Day, is the perfect time for me to turn what’s wrong around by sneaking up on my commie enemies in government in Australia and invoking the Anzus treaty which was created to deal with the threat of communism.

Today, 7th December, 2022, in the year of Our Lord, I call upon POTUS 47, Mr Ron DeSantis, of the free state of Florida, to exercise his moral authority and abilities, which already far exceed those of Joseph Robinette Biden Jr., and to invade as much of Australia as is necessary to save Australia from the evil pinko threat of Criminal-In-Chief, Daniel Michael Andrews, and his protégé, Anthony Norman Albanese. Biden is a mostly pinko Catholic, so the job has to go to a proven Pope Benedict style Catholic like Ron, the Navy Lieutenant Commander from Jacksonville.

Without wanting to put any undue emotional pressure on Mr DeSantis, I do point out now that no one has ever compensated Australia for what was done in America to Phar Lap and to Les Darcy and, even worse, to Olivia Newton-John.

If Ron is feeling really energetic at this time, he could consider fixing up New Zealand as an added bonus. I say in conclusion, “It’s up to you, mate. Whaddayareckon?”

Huck Finn Week – Day 2 – At Home With Trees

“THE sun was up so high when I waked that I judged it was after eight o’clock. I laid there in the grass and the cool shade thinking about things, and feeling rested and ruther comfortable and satisfied. I could see the sun out at one or two holes, but mostly it was big trees all about, and gloomy in there amongst them. There was freckled places on the ground where the light sifted down through the leaves, and the freckled places swapped about a little, showing there was a little breeze up there. A couple of squirrels set on a limb and jabbered at me very friendly. ” Huck Finn on Jackson’s Island

Huck Finn Week – Day 1 – Beautiful Journeys To Freedom

We are made to dance our way to freedom.

Next Saturday, the 10th of the 12th, 2022, is the 138th anniversary of the first publication in Canada and the United Kingdom of Mark Twain’s classic novel The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn.

It is a youthful story, seen through the eyes of a teenager, which, IMHO, helped liberate the American imagination from the evil idea, associated with slavery, that black people were not fully human.

The glorious story of the deep bonds of human fellowship between white boy, Huck, and the runaway slave, Jim, goes right to the heart of what the American nation is (or at least looks like to me ) – a glorious quest for equality and freedom.

The powerful primal force of the Mississippi River carries the fugitives away from the northeastern Free States they had yearned to reach into the South where slavery and its attitudes were strongest.

But, through the strength of basic human decency amid much ingenious conniving along the journey, they eventually find their way back to freedom.

Another very important pilgrimage for Freedom is described in Australian Country Music singer Dusty Starr’s song “Epic”, in which Dusty sings of the meaning for him and many other people of early 2022’s Convoy to Canberra

Mark Twin wrote that Australian history “does not read like history, but like the most beautiful lies …… (which) are all true ……….”.

For me:

Australia is journeys,

Always was and maybe always will be

In the songlines of old dreamings,

But then convicts of pommy cruelties sent around the world

Broke down hoping to get home but going, going, held ……….

Australia’s yearned in journeys constantly returning:

Explorers, drovers and foreign wars,

Swaggies and grey nomads ……..

Talk about walk about getting out

From bad laws that drove ‘em mad

So full on sad losing all they had ……..

Australia’s failed us and gave up

Staying alive with beautiful lies

Where the heart sighs

Forced to compromise

But still willed for going going

Hoping hoping

For truthful youthful

Beautiful eyes

Beautiful eyes

Beautiful eyes

Monica is a pure force for freedom.
