In 1953, my grandfather, Ralph Blanchard (pictured above), attended the coronation of Queen Elisabeth The Second.
Last year, on 9/11, when I attended the same queen’s memorial service at St Paul’s Cathedral, I was physically and sexually assaulted by police.
This happened on Swanston Street a few hundred metres from the Town Hall.
The police who assaulted me are now putting me on trial. Trauma upon trauma for me.
On April 6 this year, I wrote to the Lord Mayor asking her to support an independent IBAC (Independent Broad-based Anti-corrution Commission) investigation into the assault. These police cannot be trusted to investigate themselves.
On April 13, the Lord Mayor had not replied so I wrote again including to all city Councillors again asking for support for an IBAC investigation.
Not one replied.
They dont care.
On April 17, the front page of Melbourne’s Herald-Sun newspaper reported “Criminals’ Free Run”.
